Strange electrical problem has surfaced in our '96 Disco 1. Problem seems to be only at cold start ups or when the engine isn't fully warm and I fooiishly turn off.
When you turn the key to start, there is about a 1/2 second delay before the starter engages and the engine won't fire. Remove the key, reinsert and turn again and it starts.
I have the impression this occurs when the weather has just turned damper. Suspect that I have a bad electrical contact somewhere - not a surprise as the vehicle has never been garaged and lives in the Pacific coast of Canada.
Has anyone had success figuring this out this type of problem?
Cheers,
Pavel
