UK seller with Diesel 109 Compressor Truck, reputed to be one of only six built as a joint venture between Landrover and Broomwade. Recent restoration project had second hand engine installed, work needs completing. Full hard top or truck cab, spare set of wheels, small collection of air tools. £500 o.n.o. Can also negotiate sale of engine hoist, hydraulic jack and ramps.

I think this is one of the vehicles that Land Rover circumvented Customns & Excise regulations with.

It was realised that the PTO driven compressors were (obviously) running on duty-paid 'White Diesel' (normal DERV) & thus expensive to operate.
So.......................

They approached C&E with the question worded in a certain way asking if they made the Compressors self-propelled, was it legal to use 'Red Diesel' for road transportation??

At the time C&E said "YES"

I presume the ruling does not apply now??, so try it at your own risk!!

Having looked into this, I'd got it the wrong way round, it was actually Broome-Wade who approached Customs & Excise about making the compressors self-propelled.

Of course they didn't mention that the equipment was mounted on a LR to C&E:clap:
