Me -- I have a 1999 Landrover Discovery 2. It's been in good shape other than the wipers stopped working for letting it
set thrue the winter & the heater only comes on when it wants to.

Me -- Two weeks ago (on a Friday) 1. I drove up a really steep road/hill & stopped on a red light at the edge of it. Two minutes later
after the light turned green, I continued up the steep hill as I made a left turn. 2. Two blocks ahead, I had to stop at another
red light on a flat cement road. * 3. As I stepped on my go pedal to start driving again, the driving felt different (slower
driving + the go pedal felt partially harsh. 4. The lime M & S lights started blinking/flashing. 5. The red dot on the D for drive
started flashing. 6. I got/parked on the side of the road. 7. On the Manual it said that M was for 2nd shift. 8. Since I had the car on
park, I rolled the auto hand director to 3, 2, 1 but it only went as far as D. 9. A couple of minuteshs later, I noticed
that all the lights turned off but the car was still running. So 10. I turned the ignition off & 11. tried to re-start it 2
seconds later. 12. The car didnt start. 13. I had it towed home. 14. 3 days later (Monday), I had it towed again to my mechanics.
15. He said all he did was turn the keys (turned key knob 3 times) on the ignition & it started. 16. Although (good) battery
was exhausted). 17. I bought a new battery. 18. Everything looked like it went back to normal use. 19. Less than 2 days later, I
started car again, both arrowed light signals came on, rear emergency lights came on & then car automatically shut
off 1 minute later. (I had to go to work). 20. 11 hours later, I took the battery to Oreilly. 21. They said that battery was
at 330 (regular 880). 22. I had it charged back to 880. 23. I havent put the battery back on car ever since.
**** Me -- Is it possibly from not pushing the Hill Descent Control button as I was going up a steep hill? **
What could of possibly happened that the car acted up & Especially that my battery (s) energy gets exhaussted within less than a
couple of days time? This has never happened before & I've had the car for 8 years.

P.S. I didn't push the Hill Descent Control button.

I seems that the alternator is not working well and all the symptoms are cause by low voltage as the battery gets weak without proper charging so rule that out first... if you can start it measure voltage on the battery and if you get below 14V at idle then the alternator is gone

I figured the problem of why my baby's (aka Rover) battery gets exhausted so quick.

I had a (somewhat mechanical) friend check it for me. We turned the Rover on (with the battery fully re-charged) & connected a Multi-Meter to the Battery. Starter was good but Alternator was not functional. So we drove the Rover to Advanced Auto parts (Auto Store) so I can get a 2nd check. Their check said that my alternator was un-functional, 00.

So, me & another (mechanical & biker friend) headed to U-Pull it (a car junk yard) since I knew they had an alternator from a 2002 Range Rover for my LandRover. He pulled it out for me. It cost me $23 for the alternator + a $5 core charge.

When we got to my house so he can exchange the alternators, he told & showed me that the alternator in my Rover was still good. He said the only reason why the alternator showed it was dead was because the electric wiring that someone put on there to connect the alternator with some other connection piece was all dried up & had loosened (more likely from the steep hill engine/motor wright).

Either ways, it was something really simple & I expensive thanks to the cheap side resources & my mechanical friends.
