HELP!!!! Had an engine put in my discovery II. It won't start now. The theft light is blinking. I can jump the starter solenoid and it will try to start. It's definately body control module related. I spoke with the LR dealership, and they told me there's only a 50 percent chance it could be reprogrammed, but there's a 50 percent chance I'll have to pay 2200 dollars for a new body control module!???

Is this true, and is there anything I can do???

I have seen many engines installed and most never have a problem as long as you reset the alarm.
Any fault codes?

It won't communicate with the diagnostic computer (Pegisys) that I have, so I don't know if there are any DTC's.

Is the service engine light on, if so go borrow a real scanner and see what is showing.

Service Engine light is not on. The pegisys is a real scantool:

That's the one we're using, and our European subscription is current.
