2001 Range Rover HSE misfire

2051 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  jpfever
This past week I changed out the OEM exhaust system to a Magnaflow Cat-back system. Prior to change I was not getting any ODB-2 error codes, after the swap, I received a P0307 code, misfire in cylinder 7. I've checked the plug wire, seems ok, I have not yet checked for spark, ran out of time today. The question I have, if a coil is failing on one cylinder, would it not affect the other 3 cylinders that are firing off of the same coil?

I also have a new set of plugs to install, if I find that the spark plug is fouled.

I am new to the LR/RR as this is my first. No complaints.

Thanks for your help in advance

It will not affect three other cylinders, but it will affect one other. Each coil pack has two separate coils inside, and controls two cylinders per coil.

Plugs and wires are usually the place to start with these.
I've swapped the plug, the old plug did not seemed as if it was fouled. Definetly could smell petrol on the plug. Before I purchase a new set of coils, I'll swap the wires, and update my issue.

Swapped out #7 spark plug wire, running great. Thanks for the help.
