Helpful Diagnosis if possible.
Had very apt/mechanical neighbor replace my Valve Cover Gaskets and Upper Manifold Gasket over the weekend. When we got it back and started it up - there was a rough Idle I noticed while in Park - this rough Idle also shows up in reverse - it does not show up in Drive or while stopped at a light with foot on brakes. After a little drive for a test run - the engine service light came on. I got the following codes. I also noticed what looks like coolant leak on the driver side Valve cover Near some hoses - it may be coming from the hose actually attached to the Valve Cover or 2 other hoses right above - see images. Any assistance from this group is appreciated - my neighbor is of course going to go back under the hood but I would like a little bit of direction from the dedicated specialists on this site.

Something didn't get torqued properly when he did the repair. Was he following a RAVE manual/torquing pattern, or just using intuition?

First - thank you for your response - is is appreciated.

He probably went by intuition - will have him work in reverse and follow Rave manual to re-torque - should he re-torque valve covers and upper manifold. is their such a thing as over torque - I asked him how tight he did valve covers - he said about 15lbs.

15 lbs is plenty for the valve covers, but that's not where your leak is coming from. Have him pull the upper manifold off, then torque the lower manifold properly (following the Rave procedure) then replace and torque the upper properly.

if your pictures are correct then the leak is coming from the throttle heater plate under the throttle and dripping onto the vale cover immediately below it so it looks like it coming out of the breather hose on the cover. from there it seems to be running down the cover and is probably dripping off the cover directly over the o2 sensor. Just looking at the pictures. The connector for the o2 sensors are usually covered in oil which deteriorates the seals and they get affected by moisture - that MAY cause your misfire as the shorting O2 sensor is leaning out the bank.
the leaking throttle plate was possibly knocked during the repair - there are several replacement parts available as its a known leak area.
Also if your friend didnt put blue locktite on the valve cover bolts they will probably back out over time - known problem area and the torque is only 6lbs or 8 NM - nowhere near 15 as the valve cover gaskets have a metal insert to stop them crushing.
cheers

Well - idling is fixed - was due to one of the tubes for the secondary air pump not being connected completely. But now thankfully still left with two codes :

P0130 - Powertrain - 02 Sensor Circuit(Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P0171 - System too Lean(Bank 1)

This may still be due to that coolant leak - if anyone can chime in on these codes - would be appreciated.

It looks like Barri was right on the money here. Clean that connection for the O2 on your driver's side (it's one of the harder ones to get to, but it can be done with the help of a looooong flathead screwdriver) and get a new throttle body heater plate/gasket.

You guys were spot on - O2 sensor on drivers side was gummed up to hell - looks like codes are all gone. Now to the next mission - oil pan gasket leak and Front DriveShaft replacement. Hopefully these will be enough fixes for this year. Thanks to you cool cats(Maximumwarp and Barri)for helping solve my Disco's affliction. All appreciated. Till we meet again.
