A vibration is coming from the transfer case which can be felt at almost any speed but becomes very noticable above 70 MPH. Land Rover says that they know about the problem but can not fix it.
Has anyone else experienced this and is there anything that can be done?

I have a 1999 and I get vibration at 85mph or so . But It kind of comes and gose depending if I'm accelerating or decelerating .

I found somewere on like that it's the front drive shaft . But I did not look yet . Cause I always get a weard problem couses . Just like with my Talon . I would have same symtoms as 50 other people , but I will have a different cause for that problem .

Now Dealer told you that they can't fix it . Why ? Not covered under warrentie? Or they have no clue what to replace?

Vibrations that can be isolated to the transfer case are never good. With that said why can it not be fixed? I have to agree with TsiArt that on any vehicle that new and the cause can be isolated to the transfer then case make them replace the case. If it is because they are to lazy to look for it ( the problem) then that is another problem. Vibrations can come from many things drive shafts, wheel bearings, shocks, diffs, wheel alighnment, flat spots in tyres, brakes not ajusted properly easy to see why they might be not interested in looking for the problem.
Give us some more info and everyone here might be able to help. What makes them think that it is the transfer case?

This is the second 2004 Discovery II that I have owned. The original was replaced by Land Rover after replacing three (3) transfer cases at no charge. I was suppose to get a new 2005 but found out that it could not be flat towed because of the new electronic transfer case, so I settled for another 2004 with the same problems. According to LR this a problem specific to the 2004 and they are not planning on a fix.
