Well,

That's the name I've decided to give my Cross Coutry Journey for next year. After running some numbers and realistic predictions, I think my dream of driving in just about every major land mass of the world is very possible. I would like to have a series of "Discover Expeditions".

It's purpose?

To show that one man, wih an extraordinary machine, on a middleclass (relatively speaking) yearly income can achieve this great adventue, as well as prove these abilities to himeself.

I will be keeping a day-by-day (and I'll try a voice recorded hour-by-hour) journal of my journey.

The first and only forum to have it's own expedition? You got it! I will try to get to a great majority of the members of this forum and share some time with them, wether it be off road, or out for a cold brew. My entire adventure will be submitted to the pages of this forum!

Guys, I'll keep you updated as more things about these adventures become official!

Awesome. I've always wanted to drive cross country and wheel. I'd caravan with you to wheel some spots around california when you get here.

I do apologize...I had planned to do it June of 2006, but I'd preffer to push it further into the year, around August so I can avoid the hottest months for certain areas. I also dont want to be home for Hurricane Season here. I'm also still in search of a good navigator. I really want to do it myself and just meet up with members and other rover groups along the way. If worst comes to worst, that's probably what I'll end up doing. Rover, how far north are you willing to head up with me. I'm going all the way to WA to the desert and hills of Prosser. You'll probably be with me more than anyone else throughout the duration of the trip. Although I would like to spend some time in CO looking for a new place to live in the near future.

Make it up to Jersey and I'll show ya some good wheelin' and some good brews. Also a couch if ya need a place to crash.
You're the man Ryan! And when the time nears, I'll let ya know if I'll have to take ya up on the offer. I'm actually headed back towards the east coast and down it on the last leg of the trip. I'd really like to see your truck in person, as well as Muddy Oval's and meet the very wise John C...he reminds me of a fishing buddy of mine. Looks just like him...lol

John, I know you have some family/friends down here, would one of them happen to be named Pepin???

I can hook you up with a place to stay in Vermont- in addition to a warehouse full of millions of dollars of Land Rover parts and a Rover only repair shop to correct any issues on your rig.

Steve!!! Thank you!!! Would you be able to get that Girls Gone Wild bus back in town???..lol..Seriously though, thanks man...as far as mechanical issues go, I'm going to need all the help I can get while I'm on the road.

If ya give me a little bit of notice, and plan it for a weekend.. I can probably get 15-25 people for a trip out to one of the parks..
You bet man! That would be fantastic! Just stay tuned to this thread for all sorts of information.

By the way, everyone could always send me a message to my personal email. You can do it right through LRO.

JC, I'd also be willing to go up north into Wa with you. Just keep the updates coming.
Perfect!!!

This is definately going to be one hek of a trip!

near SCSL, llersa, and you I guess..lol...I'm gonna be moving out there on my own so it'll be nice to be near people I can wheel with without having to drive for 4 seemingly neverending hours (current situation)

(the Florida Turnpike is torture...one VERY flat, STRAIGHT road with nothing but shrubs on either side, normally done under a partly cloudy sky if its summer. Not even Metallica or the Best of Paul Rodriguez can keep you awake!!!)

Cool man, by then I will be doing nicely as a self-employed guy so taking the time off will be no biggie. Let's keep in touch. Maybe you and Serg should make a specific thread up just for the planning stages of this trip. If I remember correctly, wasn't Serg going to sponsor you for part of this trip?

Haha...same here man! LOL...Im only working double time now to fund the truck 's current upgrades, maint and life's necessities. I get basic parts REAL cheap at work. Like the rear ladder, only costs me $57. Oil Filters cost me 6.28, and we have an account set up with Rovers North :D

Yeah, Serg and I are working things out. You just reminded me to respond to an email he sent me regarding that. We actually spoke on the phone the other day, wayy cool guy man! Serg, you da man!..lol
