Have a 2011 LR4 with a blown Engine. Only 115K on it and was always properly maintained. Dealer just replaced spark plugs and oil and then 300 miles later it completely fails. No knocking, smoking, warning.

Anyone else had issues? Also any recommendations on rebuilt or new engines? Not sure what I am doing with it at this point.

Thanks!

Pulling a 600 lbs boat is not much for a LR3/4. Is it a diesel or or the V8? There are many threads in Europe of the Diesel engines throwing rods on LR3's & on 4's. Land Rover replaces these engines as long as you have all the service records. The LR4 5.0 V8's have a water pump seal that leaks and you need to replace the water pump, also some have issues of rear engine oil leaks, but not throwing rods. The LR3 4.4 V8's engine seem to been trouble free.
