I would have to say already disassembled translates to. “basket case “ to most people.
Personally I would much rather have it all in one piece than disassembled by someone else

You for your reply. Yes we were going to have Land Rover replace it but they were having a hard time finding an engine. So I thought it was a good thing that the engine has been taken out by professionals, meaning we know it was done correctly. I’m hoping someone on here will be integrated.

You are likely looking at somewhere around $15K for an engine done right. Once that is done, truck is no longer 'original' and although it will have a brand new motor, it won't carry the same value.

Value on the Landmarks has been strong and you are in CA so the car is likely clean. Top value for these is hitting around $40K ish so discounting for the engine replacement, cost to transport and non originality, I would be looking for offers in the $20K +/- range.

What happened, if you don't mind sharing?

Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat and suffered a catastrophic engine failure last week to my 2016 LR4 Landmark edition. Out of nowhere, a connecting rod broke and went through the engine block, with about 85k miles on it. I'm the original owner and have been very diligent on maintenance, so like you I'm pretty disappointed and was hoping to have it around for another couple of years.

Just now starting the process with the local land rover dealership, so if you could provide more details on your experience, it would be greatly appreciated!

As far as other options to consider, I've gotten a few trade-in offers from other non-land rover dealerships, though not surprisingly they haven't been particularly attractive.
