Dear RRC enthusiasts,

I'm located in Sweden, currently looking for a RRC 25th Anniversary in excellent condition. What do you think: How difficult is it to find one? It sems to be very difficult. Any recommendations (e. g. recommendations concerning specilised dealers) are very welcome.

Best greetings
George

You can find them you just have to be willing to hunt and pay a high price for the clean ones.

Are you looking for the regular 25th anniversary units of which 200-250 were shipped to NA? One of the European 25th Anniversary units (not sure how many there were made of those) or one of the "rare as hens teeth" very last 25, Anniversary special edition RRC's?

You could try joining the Range Rover Register and check with the Dunsfold collection, they may be aware of one or two.

Thanks for your answers and apologies for my inaccurate description! I didn't knew as a RRC-beginner, that "25th Anniversary" wasn't an exact item.

My favoured RRC is a LWB in Aspen Silver (it has to be a LHD). This is the kind of "25th Anniversary" I was talking about (is this maybe the NA-version, mentioned by Matt?). If I may ask: How would you go hunting them from Sweden? Of course I'm going to contact the Dunsfold collection, and the Range Rover Register. As well, I am willing to pay a high price for a clean one.

Thanks again,
George

Okay, so it looks as though you're after one of the NA units then or a non UK euro spec. It's going to be a little awkward finding one, verifying the condition, making the deal....safely and having it shipped to you in Sweden George, but not impossible.

You can do it several ways but I would recommend one of the following.

A) There are legitimate, very well respected companies in the collector car world that specialize in exactly this type of operation. They will do everything for you. Find the best vehicle desired within your budget, confirm it's value and condition, buy it and ship it to you. Arranging storage, insurance, import documents or even a full restoration if you want. Naturally this all costs money but it does guarantee that you are getting what you payed for with as little hassle as necessary.

B) Contact as many Land Rover dealers and reputable independent Land Rover specialist/restorers as you can and have them look for a worthwhile unit for you. They will want a commision but having an expert do an inspection, appraisal and perhaps even buy it on your behalf is well worth it in the long run. Some may even be able to help you with organizing shipping.

C) Look for the unit yourself. The interweb is a great tool for finding what you want but before any money changes hands be sure to get it appraised and inspected by someone accredited and that is familiar with this type of vehicle. Arrange the shipping and other details yourself. Depending on where exactly the unit desired is found you may even be able to collect it yourself and drive it home. Obviously this will be the cheapest option.

Good hunting!
