If I hit the gas from take off or kick it down driving, I hear a sound. It kind of sounds like air but it's not. It's a deeper sound almost like a clunk. If I let off the gas it goes away or if I accelerate slowly I don't hear it.

The check engine light is off and all of my fluid levels are fine. I'm not loosing oil, but it is wet under the engine around oil pan area. I do smell a faint burning smell kind of like oil, but I don't see smoke.

Does anyone know what it could be or maybe where to look. The vehicle seems to be running fine and the engine is smooth. Also the transmission seems to be shifting fine.

Check your front driveshaft. If you haven't had it rebuilt, you should do it right away. It's a pretty serious problem, it could fail and whip around and hit your transmission and total your truck.
