We need a bit more info on the model and options/aftermarket goodies. Is it the stripped down V6 model or fully optioned HSE? What maintenance or repairs does it need? Is everything original or has it been upgraded?
I'd say $15K for a 2005 with 100+K miles is too high. I purchased my 2005 LR3 with 65K miles on it 2.5 years ago for $16,500. It had a V8, 3rd row, NAV, lighting package, cold weather package, HD package, and cooler box. It was very well taken care of, 1 owner, bought and sold by the original dealership. It even came with both summer and studded winter tires (I live in Colorado).
Fast forward 2.5 years and 45,000 miles, $15,000 is too much for what you're looking at.
As far as what to look for, these are some of them. Of course this list is not finale:
all electronics work
air suspension including compressor
a arm bushings
uneven tire wear
indications of water leaking inside
rear AC lines if equipped with rear AC
front and rear diffs
