Hey all,

Just got my first Land Rover a couple months ago and I love the hell out of it. Only thing is now the alarm has been on the fritz and has been going off even after I disarm it. Now I just want to disconnect it but I don't know how. Tried looking at the RAVE manual, but I have very little knowledge on cars so that didn't help me much.
I got a 99 discovery II so any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks a lot!

You don't want to disconnect the alarm, fix it.
Be more specific about how and when it goes off. Have you check your hood switch, does it go off when the windows are cracked open and the alarm is set?

The alarm only goes off when I am unlocking the car with the key. I don't have a remote. They way it usually happens is: I will unlock the car, wait for the lights to stop flashing (like the lights that flash when you turn on the alarm), then I'll try opening my door. Somtimes it works, other times the alarm goes crazy. Could possibly be something within the door that keeps setting it off?

And thanks for your help Mike!

It's most likely the drivers door lock actuator.

Open the door up and disconnect the actuator to rule it out. If it still does it, it's not the door actuator.

Yes. The door actuator is inside the door.

Look on YouTube, videos on how to do it. Not a difficult job at all
