his question relates to auto boxes.
When I first start the vehicle, It will engage 1st gear no worries but it takes a minute or so before it will step up a gear.
I have checked transmission fluid and all is fine.

Would that affect it?
Once the car has warmed up I have no problems.
The kickdown is fine, I'll take a look anyway!

When you say it only does it when you 1st start it up (car is cold) therin lies the answer: Before the car reaches engine operating temperature the trans will automatically hold the gear longer (thus higher RPM's) so the engine heats up faster and there is less wear, plus it helps out emissions. My 1992 Classic and 4.0SE also do the same thing-no worries. In extreme cold they will take even longer to shift becuase the fluid is thick. Still no worries.
