Have an 05 V8 with about 220k miles on the clock. Slips between 4, 5 and 6th and makes a grinding noise in the process. Some times it throws a transmission fault but if I back off the acceleration it will usually catch and not give a fault.
Anyways I sourced a good used one out of another 05 V8. I'm debating having an independent shop do it or do it myself.
Has anyone done it? Any surprises?
