Hi all, hoping for some help. Back ground: trans shifter cable broke at the lever on the trans, nut was seized and broke off, tried removing the shift lever, nut also seized and broke the shifter rod (i was super happy when this happened!) I got a new rod and roll pin from Ashcroft. Day comes to install, xyz position switch wont come off the rusted splines on the rod. I patiently wiggled and wiggled and gently pryed and it came off! Except it left the female plastic splines behind (awesome I know).
My question is this: I'm a week away from my new xyz switch from getting here and I don't want to leave the trans pan off while I do other work, but I didn't pay attention to which side the flat of the shifter rod goes (up or down). Anyone happen to know?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi how did you manage to pull that bolt out ?? And what is that part called?

I’d be the happiest man if I get a reply. I broke this god damn thing when taking off the xyz and I’m dead lost on what to do
