Goodday y'all

Was taking a trip to albany,new york today for shopping ..I live in the sticks here in Vermont no stores but anyways I iflled up with gas and got about 10 miles into trip set cruise on 70 and shortly after and loud bang sounded like tire blowing so I pulled over and couldnt find anything?? Sounded like the bang came from center of vehicle under seats maybe?? Could this of been abackfire through catalatic convertor?? Went rest od 200 mile round trip with no issues and ran fine>>Water in gas>> I am lost here Any suggestions.. I always run 87 octaine always have with no issues Its a 95 disco auto with 52000 easy miles.

On the Disco 1, you can run 87?

Mine pings on 87 something fierce.. and the dealer as well as the manual states Premium Fuel Only.. Which I hate since 87 is $.40/gal cheaper.

87 Is a NO NO, it will carbon up your engine in a big way, Rovers are none for this and short lived valves and lifters.
Not that this caused your noise, but just a thought. Did you get a check engine light? What happens when you go full throttle 1st. thru 3rd. foot to the floor? Has long has it been since you changed the fuel filter?
Just looking for ideas for you,

no check engine light like I said was a loud bang like ya blew a tire.. Fuel filters are good 2200 miles ago And plenty of power in 1-3 gears.. Just dont know what cause it It should run 93 octaine in it?? let me know..

Our 96 Disco had the check engine light come on and a few days later we got the backfire and the light went off... We added a fuel injector cleaner to a full tank of gas and no more problems.... :clap:
