Hey Folks,
Was wondering if I can get an opinion on my issue… so it’s been going on for two weeks now, 03 D2 4.6 V8, where upon start the cranking is slowly getting weaker.
I’ve checked my alt with my checker and it says it’s good. The battery is reading good, but I know these discos are sensitive so can somebody confirm:
Off: 12.5v
Running: 13.5v (sometimes drops to 13.4v while running)

even with the charger hooked up, it still cranks slow and almost stops but keeps faintly cranking then will pick up and start.

ive considered the starter as well, but it’s not making that clicking noise usually associated with a bad starter.

Thanks
CG

Check your connections at the battery to the starter.
you also can remove the starter and bench check it and the solenoid.

Thanks for that. I checked the connection from the battery and cleaned each contact and that fixed it. I’m going to swap that harness out, neg and positive just for good measure.
