Sometimes we get a squeal when we first take off in our RRC. I thought loose belt, then I noticed no RPM's showing then the needle shot up and the squeal stopped. This doesn't happen every time but I don't know whats causing it. The belt seems tight enough. Any ideas?

It looks like you have a bad alternator.

I had this problem with my 92 rover classic. The alt. belt seemed tight, but after retightening, the problem of squeals and tach needle jump went away.
Keep tightening!!! :beer: :drink1:
