Oil light blinks for about 10 seconds then goes out if start up from cold. If i turn the iginition off immediatedly, and start again it is gone.
Iol is new. Engine babied with 156K

Can anyone help?:confused

I've noticed on my '93 4.2 that there is a sensor on the side of the oil pan...my wires have been severed. Not sure what it is but that is the only thing that has changed since we installed this motor.

Mine does it too.

Thanks OKie...I read the manual again and it states this is normal if the lvel is low.
BUT...my level is not low...is it a sensor malfuntion?

I've never seen the oil light blink in normal driving when it gets low, however, I will see it when off road on steep inclines etc.
