Try jumping the positive wire (brown with red stripe) from the blower motor to the positive on 12v jack near the Hi/Lo gear shifter. Mine does the same thing and that's how i fixed it.

Not so fast!

Update; For some reason my alarm would not activate after doing this mod and after I let the Disco sit for 2 days the battery was dead. Today I charged the battery and after making sure my alternator was ok (14.5V @ idle), I turned it off and again my alarm would not set. So I disconnect the wire from the cigarette lighter to blower motor and everything is back to normal. I'll let it sit and see what happens in the morning. Also I think my battery is on its way out. If any one else did or does this mod and has any issues please post here.

I know this is an old post but I tried the jumper and my fan comes on..MY question is what is being jumped out? I much rather fix it right than half=== anything esp on my mode of transportation.
Thanks
