I read somewhere that a Land Rover had a Buick engine, and that Land Rover was owned by Ford. What's with this? Just purchased a 99 Disco I, are some of the major parts, motor, trans, transfer case, axles from other manufacturers?
Follow the link for a pretty thorough article on the Rover V8 that sits under the hood of your Disco.
BMW owned Land Rover from 1994 to early 2000, so if anyone gives you a hard time about your truck being an overpriced Explorer just tell them it's actually an underpriced X5.
S Couch, when i went from a 3.9 to a 4.6 that was a wow difference. I almost sold it because it's so underpowered. The RPI chip and cam also helped. This passes a smog test real easy. With the 5-speed it's fun to run the gears. Carl..........o&o>..................
