Now that I have finally replaced the driver's door actuator so that the central locking works all around, I would like to add a keyless entry remote. I never got one when I bought my D2. There's no way I'm spending $hundreds on genuine remotes. Does anyone have any experience with the inexpensive knockoffs available on eBay. Some of them have the bar code for programming. There seems to be a choice of 315 or 433 MHz frequencies. Ads say 315 MHz is for US spec cars. Can anyone confirm that? Mine is a US spec 2000 model.

I'm going to call around to see if a local locksmith can program and cut the key as the dealers will no doubt want an arm and a leg for this.

Thanks for any input.
