Hello everyone,
I'm new os please bare with me. I have a Land Rover Discovery II SE7 with the 4.0 liter engine. I need the exact wiring configuration for the coil pack to spark plugs.

Facing the engine from the frontal view, where is the number 1 cylinder? Drivers side or passenger side / front or rear?

I've seen several threads on the coil pack wiring that seem to differ .. Could someone please let me know what the wiring sequence is on the left coil (passenger side of vehicle) and right coil (driver's side of the vehicle)?

I hope I am not adding confusion >> Just need help before I put the wires on ..

Thanks so much:)

i've always known it to be driver side (front to back) 1,3,5,7... pass side (front to back) 2,4,6,8... and that was on any v6 or v8 engine.

pix. of it from driver seat. so flip flop it and you should be good..: EDIT meaning left to right when laying on motor.1 will be top right, and 8 will be top left

Thank you so much for your expert advice. I was having trouble with the coil orientation & you made it as clear as day .. coild wire 1 (top) & 7 (bottom) being on the driver's side facing the firewall has me on track ... You are a life saver .. With things as crowded as they are I didn't want to keep having to pull the upper plenum off & coil packs off to get it right ..
