Gentlemen, I have just bought a Flex-a-lite electric fan, and want to know if it could replace the crank driven original fan on my '97 Disco-1

I would like to get a little more power from my 3.9, but will only replace the original fan with the electric fan if the latter is capable of matching, or exceeding, the cooling power of the original fan. Any help on this conversion's practicality, cooling, or installation will be appreciated.

The fan is 16" in diameter (3.5" thick), and has a 2100 CFM rating. Does anyone know of the original fan's CFM rating?

I understand for many message sites that you shouldn't have a problem with the fan. However when I was back in England I visited a Land rover Workshop for some parts and talked to them in depth on this issue. They told me, that the fan only really comes in the play when off-roading and have I tried just running the truck with out the fan. They said if the engine gets to hot in my model, a 94 Disco (Dont know is this the same for other years). The A/C fan will cut in. They said that being as I live in Minnesota in the winter I would have no troubles with this set up. I have removed the fan but I keep it in the truck with a wrench just in case. I also have an independent coolant temp gauge and so far I have seen no change in the temp up or down. And he was right I left the truck running in the drive and sure enough after a long time the A/c cut in.
This is all good for day-to-day road uses but I would replace the fan for off-roading.
PS I’m not advising this to everyone this is just my experience.
I'm putting my fan back on this weekend and will be removing it this winter 5 degrees F
