I replaced my water pump but I have the old upper hose with the bleed screw molded in above the rad. I am wondering if there was a nut on the inside of the hose or if the hose just had threads casted that the screw went into? I am just worried that if there is a piece inside that it is now floating in my cooling system and will destroy my new pump, help please.

It is just a plastic screw cap in a threaded hole. Should not be any parts otherwise to fall in

ty, 2 days out in winter with a tarp over myself changing water pump with freezing rain and wind and then that happens, sucked. I then thru some tape over the hole, the stretchy stuff AND started the truck, it blew off, all over engine, I am a sore, bitter and cold rover owner.
