I think when you see the price it's going to set you back. A new surplus 4BT with pump, injectors, manifolds, etc is going to cost you ten grand.

The 4BT is a popular swap into the old Dodge Power Wagon. And an inexpensive engine to find used- plus you can actually work on it. It probably wouldn't be much fun for daily driving though. Not a ton of power for highway use. It would be a job and a half to do the conversion. And that's just the mechanics. The electricals are a completely different issue. The guys doing small block swaps are just re-using the Rover ECU- it doesn't know the sensors and ignition are bolted to an LS.
