hi there

just registered , nice to have found this board. i was wondering about other peoples experiences wrt customer service in south africa.

Hi there, which agent do you use? I go to Durban central dealer. No real problems with servicing....but new car sales, that's another story.

Landy Service

I live where Land Rovers are supposed to have the best service in South Africa. They won "Best dealer award 3y in a row". Good, but also good in taking your money. Previous workshop manager retired, he service my Landy now, and not his appy's anymore. Third the cost from the dealer, same job. Anyway, Bulls really kicked some ass out the Stomers yeasterday" 75,bulls-14, stormers. Great job.

The Bulls bettee go all the way tomorrow!!
There are quite a few private workshops that deal specifically with land rovers in and around CT , Durban and JHB/pta . I have found these guys to have excellent knowledge , and their cust service exceeds that of Land rover .. probably because they have to fight for business. They are also very reasonable.
Have a look in Yellow pages .. you should find one or two there

There's only one place I've had decent customer service from with my Landy - Somerset Overlander in Somerset West. Have had enough hassles with the rest that I sommer do everything myself now (with my Resident Expert's help).

The joys of having a Series with no electronic fiddly bits! :D

Land Rover Customer Service in South Africa Horrible!

I bought a Land Rover Discovey 4 TDV6 HSE and I have done 42,000KM. To my surprise the rear left rim just cracked and I took it to a local dealership in Witbank for replacement. They refused to replace it on Warranty and referred me to Land Rover South Africa (LRSA). LRSA responded arrogantly that I had been involved in an accident which damaged the rear rim hence they can not pay for warrant since they claim it was accident damage. I could not believe this response. I had not even taken the car off road yet! No scratch or anything!

May someone (or the editor) please assist me with the way to get recourse on this issue. Maybe from Land Rover Corporate Office in England (or is it Tata in India!)!:moon:

Hi All,
Wow, Lysias, Sorry to hear about what LRSA did to you, Maybe try speaking to a Lawyer, as we are currently in a Lawsuit as the Disco 3 has a Handbrake problem, The handbrake disengaged and the car rolled over a lady!! big issues they say there is no problem but there was a re-call letter given from LRUK, so ja.

have a problem now with the freelander, The brakes are making weird noises when stopping, Clanking and creeking noise, have pretty much replaced everything now, driveshaft - Left and right, Prop shaft and CV joints including new Brake disks and Pads, still nothing, still shuddering and creeking and clunking, i can even feel it in the peddle when braking, My landy is currently at land Rover Again this morning.
Any word on the Issue? has anyone Heard of this?
Your words will be greatly appreciated :)
