Hi all,

I have a "project" V8 2000 D2 135k that won't run. Was running well and recently replaced starter, heads, battery, cooling system & rad, tires and cr.. Here is the problem:

- Car turns over and quickly shuts off. After messing with the inertia switch a little and removing battery cable, truck rough idles at below 1000rpm but shuts off when pressing the gas.

So it seems that there's a problem getting fuel. I have replaced crankshaft sensor, but problem is still there. There is no fuel leak. I have a new fuel pump but I'm having problems getting off the locking ring without that special tool. I've tried the flathead screwdriver trick but not avail. Should I just keep trying this? I'm not even certain that this is the fuel pump but I'm not a car expert and I'm learning as I go along with this stuff with some help from my father on FaceTime!

Hope you can help and thanks in advance! :smile

So what did you do ? Replace the airflow sensor? Clean it? What codes did you have?
