I have a 2001 Disco and the blower motor stopped working ordered a new one and it came had a taller cage on it, ordered another one same thing about a 1/4" taller. The old cage is flat on top. When i install the new motor it binds and the motor will not turn i back the screws out turn blower on and it turns. I have got 2 motors from 2 different venders.Thank for looking

You could always try swapping the shorter basket onto the new motor.

Maybe yours is a late 2001 model and a 2000 might fit. Just a thought.

IMO the sellers who sold the black motor are wrong cos it's not a direct cross interchange for the original D2 blower motor used by LR after MY 2000 which is definitely the white one p/n JGC100480 like this Heater Blower Motor For 200-2004 Discovery Series II (Same As PM4127) while the black one is p/n 8710321010 Four Seasons 75015 HVAC Blower Motor For 00-10 Land Rover Scion Discovery tC | eBay but albeit they claim that it's the same with JGC100480 motor it's certain that it's not cos it's the same with STC3153 so send back that motor and get the proper one.... and tell those sellers to not list it as compatible with the D2 modells after 2000 cos it's not, might work for the very early modells up to YA256943 which have the STC3153 same with D1 or RRC Land Range Rover Discovery Factory Genuine OEM Heater AC Blower Motor Fan STC3153 JGC100480 these sellers also made the mistake to write STC3953 on the pictures instead of STC5153 like in the listing on top which is the correct one... we have to be very scrupulous with part numbers these days

And that's wrong cos the JGC100480 is the equivalent of VDO's PM4127 as it's corectly shown in the first link in my previous reply and it's the suitable part for your vehicle... that's the seller's mistake who has put the JGC100480 p/n on a so called VDO motor PM9212 under Continental brand made in China which is the equivalent of STC3153.

Sierrarfery, Thank you and everyone for replys. the venders all showed the white fan cage but they have all shipped with the larger Black cage. Working with the last vender to get this resolved.

Insist to get one with manufacturer's p/n PM4127 on the motor not what th seller thinks it's JGC100480 cos there's the confusion, the colour is irrelevant cos there are wrong ones which are white too

Update: Got a new Blower motor this one came in brown box with just a part N # JGC100480/H not sure of the manufacture just that part #. But it fit perfect, So nice to have heat/Ac. Thanks for the help support and feed back.
