Well I went to open the rear door on my 97 Disco and it will not open at all. I tried the outside handle and the inside one with no luck. Anybody have any thoughts on how to get it open?

If you remove the green oval LandRover badge, you get better access to spray to handle mechanism with WD40 or similar. Usually on sticks in the winter due to all the salt on the roads
WHAT HE SAID IS THE EXACT FIX, IF THIS DOES NOT FIX IT YOU NEED A NEW TAIL DOOR LATCH, PART NUMBER MXC2008, GOOD LUCK WITH FIXING IT, LUBRICATING IT SHOULD WORK FOR SURE.

This topic was covered not so long ago here, you may track it down.Anyways, my recommendation at that time was:
Go to pep boys and look for the "stp" silicone-based lubricant. It's on a blue can. It's way much better, because the "wd-40" tends to fade away with time/car washes/winter salt.Remove the rear green LR logo badge as previously stated, and drown the mechanism with the spray. It should work after a couple tries.

Thanks for the help guys. It opened after I went to try it the other day. I have put the STP spray on it and it appears to be fine for now. I hardly use wd-40 anymore. I prefer the STP spray.
