I have just bought a 2003 TD5 7ES, and ran out of fuel yesterday !!

The warning light came on, and approx 4 miles later it all went quiet.... Is this a general problem - or have I got a faulty gauge ?? Surely I should get a lot more than 4 miles once the light comes on.... :dunno:

I have an 04 Disco with a 4.6 ENG. My owners manual said the red light should come on when you have 5 galons of gas left.
