Per Safety Devices, cost of shipping from UK is about same as price of cage,,, Can anyone refer me to a custom fab shop in US that can manufacture such a cage? Preferably in the northeast. Thanks-- :dunno:

SD recently went bankrupt but will undergo reorganization which will most likely move their production outside of UK. However, when they still had their old website last year, they had a listing of authorized vendors here in the U.S. One of the only two is a company in NJ and is the only one that carries the roll cages. I'm not sure if they still cary them but it's worth a shot. Stable Energies Goodluck!

Thanks Bruin !
$1400 is pricey, though. I'm assuming shipping will add significantly.
I'll have to compare to some custom fab quotes.
With the SD, however, at least I know it'll fit & hold.

I figured it's a lot cheaper than shipping from UK since its in the US. I guess what I'm trying to say is that when I got a quote for shipping my wife's Freelander from UT to CA for about $400 and that's a car. Doesn't it ship disassembled anyway just like the external NAS rollcages for the 110's. Unless of course I'm wrong and it's welded all throughout except for the little parts. I take it that the price was significantly less if you buy it directly from SD based on your first post?

The price SD quoted me was roughly 550 PS. So it's a bit more expensive here but, as you point out, the shipping was about equal the price of the cage so overall cost here should be significantly cheaper. I would really like to get one. And the more I think about it, SD seems the way to go vs. local fab. HOWEVER, I have seen some pretty cool custom cages & 1/2 cages for Discos. Oh well, I'll have time to think about it as I need time to save up the dough. The house just sold,,,so the first think I need to do is buy some LRO stuff from Serg since I haven't been a very good member when it comes to the LRO store! I just can't decide between the coffee mug,,,and the thong!

ROFL :D I'd go with with the thong only if the LRO logo is embossed in front. Just teasing sir. The problem is we don't even know if SD products will be available in th U.S. for long. They recently went into bankruptcy (more like Chapter 11 reorganization here in the U.S.) but I read somewhere that they are planning to move their factory to Poland. Goodluck with your search for local fabs as I'm sure there are lots of reputable ones here as well.
