Most likely the wiper motor assembly. If it were stopping electronically then it could be the wiper switch or the park switch inside the wiper motor.
Discovery 2 2001 wipers stop half way though
My wipers are stopping half way on intermittent and then goes on but keeps stopping. There is a clicking every time it starts again.

Mine did the same thing, most likely the park switch. I replaced the wiper assembly wth one off eBay. You will need to pull the hood off to remove the plastic cowl piece.

No, you won't. If you take your time, you can remove the cowl without removing the hood.You will need to pull the hood off to remove the plastic cowl piece.
