OK I know this is dumb...

How do you get the little caps off the lug nuts on the wheels. I have a 95 classic RR with the OEM wheels.

I damaged one trying to get it off using a screwdriver - still didn't budge!!! :complain:
I didn't want to try anymore as I figured their is some trick! :shifty:

Anyone know?

Let me guess what the next question is going to be......and the answer is.....

1 1/8 inch socket

I bought a break over bar and socket and leave it in my truck. The OEM tool I had is now a screw as it failed and I twisted it nearly a full turn.
Damn those impact wrenches.

Did the same thing on 95 4.0SE RR. I thought they were "protective" caps over the lugs so they would stay shiny. I just use a hammer and pound the breaker bar with socket on until the caps conform. Some are easy, some are hard. Actually there is a story here--When trying out the vehicle, the owner had just put new tires on it. Took it for a test drive, right away here this "clop-clop" noise--pull over, tire in pass rear is going flat. We get it back, and only the guy's wife is home--she needs the car. So we changed the tire for her--and ended up getting the socket stuck on one of the lug nuts! She had to drive around with the spare on with a big socket stuck to one of the nuts!

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Yeah - I converted my EAS to an onboard air supply so I am going to pick up a couple of tools to use with it! Like an impact wrench, dunno what else would be handy, I got one air pump and one air gun. That way I can use the air hammer to undo those dang wheel nuts.
