Hi,

I am new here, and I need some advice. I have a 2012 LR2, and I want to tow a single horse in a trailer. I know I need over run brakes, but LandRover apparently doesnt make a braking controller for the LR2. Do any of you have advice on which to purchase? I will have my LR dealer install for me, but I have no idea which one to buy.

My trailer and horse would weigh less than the 3500 lbs capacity.

My understanding is that overrun brakes are fitted to the trailer and operated by the drawbar. When the trailer is being pulled, the brakes are off. Here in the US that is called a "surge brake", and Bossbob is correct, no connection to vehicle at all, completely independent.
