Hi all, I'm looking to get a boneyard engine and rebuild with top-hat liners and new goodies. Question: If an engine was overheated and coolant got in, is the block shot, or won't it matter since I'll be replacing everything anyway? What should I look for when choosing a doner engine? thanks

If overheated, heads will be warped. If overheated, why? My block had 2 pinholes BEHIND the cylinder sleeve that were undetectable until I removed the cylinder sleeves. I had to have them TIG welded before the new sleeves were installed. Check out my posts on my DIY engine rebuild/top-hate liner install for more info:

They are all repairable, if necessary.
