IVE BEEN TOLD IVE GOT A DEAD CYLINDER. 4.2 95 COUNTY LWB. SEEMS AS THOUGH THERES A SLEEVE OF SORTS THAT HAS BLOCKED A PASSAGE WAY. the mechanic wasnt able to use a scope due to there being something metal blocking the opening.

ANY suggestions on what to do or how much it should cost to fix??

it behaves just fine on the highway but you can feel it it when you back off gas. then when back to city speeds its makes a continuous metallic noise until acceleration ...

Metal blocking what opening? Dead cylinder is from no fuel from injector or valves hung open or hole in piston. If you are mechanical, Harbor Freight has a scope on sale for $70 so you can check yourself. If you are not mechanical inclined, how about a car nut friend? Buy him the scope and let him tell you. Has a compression test been done or a leak down test?

Throw me a bone here!

Metallic noise coming from top of engine, bottom-end? Consistent with engine speed or vehicle speed?

General state of tune/condition? Belt repalced recently? Alternator, fan/clutch? Spark plugs all look the same when removed? Fuel economy changes?

Did this magically happen, or was it coincidental with something else?

Power loss?

C'mawn! Give me something to go on!
