Erratic tachometer and speedometer

How's everyone doing? I'm happy to say that I finally rescued my rover from the bad MX of the south and brought it back to Brooklyn. I took it to my main MX and he got it running. As I was happy it finally started up, I've noticed while stepping on the gas pedal (to the floor), the tach will sometimes drop down to 0 and back and act all erratic. Also the speedometer is also acting up in the same way. I've read this is often caused by a dying alternator, which mine is new/rebuilt. The battery is also brand new. Does anyone have any clues?

Here is a video of what I mean...( the rover was parked at the time of this filming).

Your rebuilt alternator might be bad. It's pretty common.

The speedometer might be the VSS. I think on some of the rrc it's a separate box driven by the speedo cable. The 1995 might be setup like a disco vss. Not sure.

What is the VSS and also I was thinking that the ignition coil may have something to do with it......does that sound unusual?
