I looked into extended warranties when I bought my first Range Rover about a year ago. Much searching and talking with different companies led me to warranties4wheels... They are very good, and one of only 2 companies I could find in the US that would cover used Rovers... with ANY amount of miles!

If you are looking for a warranty on your Rover give them a shot.. The owner, Wayne, has offered to pay LRO a small percentage of each policy sold. It will help offset some of my costs in running this place. So if you are interested, please use the banner and check it out.

Thanks!

Any suggestions regarding extended warranties in Canada? My 2004 RR is at 77,000K and I will be at the 80K mark in a month or less.....so I cannot delay looking into an extended warranty any longer.

I clicked on your link below and I noticed it was only for US clients.

Thanks

Having said that I added the link at the bottom of each page. If you are looking for a warranty on your Rover give them a shot.. but please do it by clicking the banner on the bottom of each page. Make sure ALL the fine print has been read. Having worked for a L/R dealer for quite sometime, and dealing with more extended warranty companies than I care to try to count, the only one I have ever seen to be worth anything is the Land Rover extended warranty, available only through the dealer. All others I've dealt with will scimp either on the amount of labor they are willing to pay per hour (and guess who has to make up the difference?), or the amount they are willing to pay for parts (and guess who makes up the difference?), or just outright decline the job for whatever loop holes they can find (pre-exsisting conditions, etc..).

Warranties 4 Wheels and Landrovers Only

I would like thank Landroversonly.com for referring me to Warranties 4 Wheels about 2 years ago. I do not normally get into the whole forum and chat room stuff but I browsed around before buying a warranty (because the dealership wanted to clean me out for a two year policy) and came upon this forum where I was told to go to Warranties 4 Wheels.
Since I bought the warranty I have had to replace the air suspension and a head gasket. Both of the repairs were covered with no hassle. I would have never thought it was possible, but the warranty saved me alot of money.
I am going to try to put the link to them here if it does not work, I am sorry but at least I tried.

I spoke with Land Rover Dallas the other day regarding ext. warranty possibilities for my 2005 LR3 (35k miles). The gentleman said they offered 2: Land Rover Assured which is a 3 yr for $5700 or "Repair Advantage" for 4yr/60k miles for $3000. He told me the main difference is that the former covers Nav, Sat radio, and homelink where Repair Advantage does not...but does cover "high pressure hoses" which tend are usually labeled wear and tear items. For this reason (and the fact that my LR3 doesnt have Nav) he said he almost always recommends the cheaper. Anyone have this "Repair Advantage" ext. coverage or know anything about it?

Both are exclusionary and carry $200 deductibles.

I don't know about anyone else on the board, but I'd wait until the truck has about 50,000 miles on it before entertaining the thought of an extended warranty - that is if the truck has a squeaky clean bill of health from the place you're buying it from and it sounds as if you're doing just that.

I'd wait to buy one, but that's probably me just me being a skinflint LOL

If you're going to get one, probably what the dealership mentioned, the cheaper of the two

Or have you looked here?

Yeah I saw that recommendation on rangerovers.net as well as Auto Advantage...Hal at AutoAdvantage quoted me:

PREMIUM Bumper to Bumper Coverage
*** $200.00 Deductible ***
1 Year/Unlimited Miles- $ 991.00
2 Year/Unlimited Miles- $1,495.00
3 Year/Unlimited Miles- $2,221.00
4 Year/Unlimited Miles- $3,129.00
5 Year/Unlimited Miles- $3,926.00

Warranties4Wheels (via geninuine warranty solutions) quoted me 2686.00 w/100 deduct for 3 yr unltd miles.

For the similarities in price I would rather go with one bot in person through a LR dealership. As to waiting, the prices go much higher the closer you get to being out of warranty and once you are out it is (supposedly) quite difficult to find ext. warranty coverage for rovers.

Hopefully it is all for naught but safe/sorry.

Hi,
Not sure about good ones, but I was sold a bill of goods by (won't use the name but they sell) LAND ROVER in CALGARY..
(Yeah, email me guys; you never bothered to after the thing expired.)

Buying the Freelander, we were told that 'If the extended warranty wasn't used, the whole thing would be refunded.' I asked; The whole thing, and refunded, not just a credit??' Answer; 'Yes.'

When it was going to run its course, I called in and got directed to the warranty company. (I'll look up the name and post later) They said, 'gee, you only bought the ... there is no value to that now...
Back to the dealer; pitiful customer service; hey, they had already got my money.. well, they could give me a discount on some parts..
Finally passed on the a higher-up manager.. no better;

Pitiful. They lied during the sale or to be generous; got it wrong, but no real attempt to make it right; they made their cash by selling the third party product; screw the customer. Was there fine print? Yes. Did I ask the specific question and trust them to know what they were promising? Yes.

Anybody from that dealership? Any problem with this? Speak up.

Moral, read the fine print.
Feh!
Rick
