Hello friends!!
Guess what? My mechanic finally found an original Land rover rear locked differential! When he was young and worked for his uncle, he used to install it every weekend in his uncle's series III, to go to fishing. After more than 30 years...he found it again in a forgoten corner of his cousin workshop. It was made in 1969 and it is sligtly jammed (it has been sitting there all these years!).
The question now guys is: what kind of oil should I use in this differential?
....the answer is critical my friends...since the main reason why Land rover stopped bringing these to the country, was that people used normal differential oil...and melted them!!!
...happy to had found it...and eager to here your advice....
