:lol: i have a 86 3.5 vouge, idles nicly and revs nice but when it is in gear and you accelerate it dies, i've changed coil, leads, plugs, fuel filter and cleaned all plugs and contections. It seems to happen under load. i've run aout of ideas, PLEASE HELP. :drive:

Hows your air filter? DO you have some blockage there?
If this truck wasn't "normally aspirated" (carburators) I'd say it was the air idler valve.

its a efi and has a new filter, i'll check the idler today, i was thinking along the same lines thought maybe run to lean.

I have a 88 efi classic auto doing the same sort of thing
Mine runs fine but, when I go to drive the engine slowly dies & stops
once going it has no power
I have searched 2 other fourms as well as this one and am still working my way through to find a fix

Just a shot in the dark but I would check the air gap in the dizzy, also

hey FOUND IT :clap:
did my ign timing 1 week ago was spot on.
since then have done EVERY THING !!!
just thought ide check timing again
8* btdc
re set it to tdc & tighten clamp bolt down
8* btdc
re adjust same
same
same
found clamping moves dissy a couple of degs BUT also vac advance when used to grip dissy moves and dosnt reset to position straight away!!!
CHECK YOURE TIMING and then CHECK IT AGAIN once you think you are finished!!!

after all the tinkering ive done my RR has NEVER gone so well :drive:
