So I am now going to put the 4.2 back together. I am confused. The old gasket had 14 bolt holes. however all of the new gaskets I find have 10. So do I just not use 4 or what do I need to do here? Doesn't seem correct to me.

Don't need the four but you must use the torque bolts with the new headgasket. Don't reuse your old bolts.

For 14 bolt heads you are suppose to use the thin metal gaskets. For 10 bolt heads you are suppose to use composite gaskets. The composite gasket is 30 thou thicker than a metal gasket and will therefore reduce you compression ratio by 15% to 20% if used on 14 bolt heads.
