I just changes the radiator in my 97 discovery. The rad swap went perfect and the engine now runs cool. However, after driving back to the auto store to return the old rad, I noticed a really bad scraping noise coming from underneath. I checked the tranny fluid and after being unsure, I drained all the fluid form the pan and refilled it. The fluid is right at level, but the scraping sound is still there. I can't get it to go into 4WD either. Any ideas?

The fact that you can not shift into one of the lock positions is normal if you haven't used it for a long time, the shifter freezes up.
As for the noise, when was the last time you actually changed any of your drive train fluids, tranny, diffs, t/case and when were the u-joints last greased?
