I just got a 98 discovery and while in park it idles at 1000 rpm, sometimes 1800 rpm. If I turn on the a/c, the higher I turn it up the lower the rpm's drop. It even stalled once. If I put it in drive the truck runs fine but idles around 800-900 rpm. What should I do? I heard it can be a vacuum leak or the idle control valve but I don't know where it's located. Please help

Start by cleaning the Idle Air Control valve located on the front of the intake. You will see two sensors when looking from the front of the truck it will be the one on the right. I just had the same issue and took it out cleaned it and port with carb and throttle body cleaner and a tooth brush. Replace and give about a day for computer to reset and it should help.
