I'm having a hard time trying to adjust the front passenger inner door release. Shop manual says "Rotate the spring tensioned nyloc nut at the opposite end of the interior handle connecting rod, clockwise or counter-clockwise to shorten or extend the operating length". I understand that, but how do you access it????? It now takes quite a few pull on the lever to open the door and that does not make the wife happy :complain:

Yeah that's a must, but what the pic fails to show clearly is that the mechanism is still behind a metal piece of the door. It's a blind shot at the adjuster. I guess I'm looking for tips or tricks to get at the adjuster nut.

I hear ya.

I did similar thing to my wife's discovery (changed window regulator) and the metal plate in front of the mechanism is just PITA to manuver things around to get to. I guess only thing ca be done is to take the mechanism out and adjust the nut and reinstall.

yeah, the nut on the end of the threaded shaft is tough to access, and you may question your sanity before you finish the job, but the best way i've found to adjust it is to use a "sacrificial wrench"..........whats a sacrificial wrench, you ask? lol...well, its a wrench you've had to sacrifice to do the job, of course(yeah, i felt kinda dumb writing that)...take a 7 millimeter wrench (if my memory is correct, that is the size of the nut) and cut the open end off to a length of approximately 2 inches, this will be close to the correct length...you should now be able to make small adjustments to the nut in the desired direction...take your time and try not to get too frustrated, as this will test your patience........and yes, you must thread your entire arm/hand up into the latch area through one of the door panel openings
hope this helps

Thanks s.o.l. At least knowing it might be 7 mil is a start and the whole yoga thing is side the door is fun. If I cant get at it, then I'm going with Mick's route.
I'm away for a couple weeks so I will let you know how it goes when I get back.
