I just got the truck back from having the muffler replaced with a Flowmaster, and had the resonator and tailpipe removed and replaced with a 3" rolled tip placed up near the bumper. Sounds really good now and has better clearance thatn the "droopy dick" OEM tailpipe.

lift that sucker up and take some pics of it underneath. Also, any power increase, or noticible increase?
Which one did you get? 40 or 50 series?

I was looking into a new exhaust myself, I saw the Borla, didn't know that there was a flowmaster.... I am pretty dumb at times. was it costly?

I got the 40 series and it sounds wonderful. As far as power increase, it may have picked up a bit, but I think the mileage will pick up about 1 - 1.5 mpg.

Nice choice, I have a D1 but I have a Flowmaster 40 on it as well (and took off the rear muffler)... just a warning, if it is anything like mine, it's gonna get MUCH LOUDER over time. Mine is a bit louder than I planned on when I got it done about 2 years ago. (My mom hates to ride in the Rover now, says I'm going to go deaf!)

flowmaster...

I got one on my Series I... hell of a difference  However, I did not do the "rice boy" efffect.... I have the "droopy dick", as one of our posters did.... In any event, there is a noticeable difference off the line, and sound too... almost sounds as if there is a 5.7 under the hood!

I have a 40 series in my Disco with a striaght pipe (no resonator) and it sounds nice.... no chrome tip, just good ol' rusty pipe... a chrome tip wouldn't last too long on the trail.

Yeah, I hear ya. The only reason I changed the pipe was because my factory tip hung down too low. Actually, I have about 3-4 more inches of clearance than the oem tip had.
