Ok,

I got 4 new ES9000 2" exstended length shocks.
Nice Big Blue Springs 2.5" lift.
Exstended Brake Lines. (I dont think I am spelling exstended right.)

So, do I need to take it to a professional? I have installed new suspensions. My brother says I need a spring compressor. Can I do this my self?
RoverX are ya still up to helping me?

I also got a Front Skid Plate, Front Diff Guard, and a Safari Gard steering Conversion kit. Some good, but used, 235/85/16 tires.

~EXTENDED~

ive taken apart my suspension a few times with no problems. all you need is two jack stands two jacks, channel lock, and a bunch of basic tools. spring retainer was unnecessary.

rear: loosen the lug nuts. jack up the vehicle as high as you can and put the jack stands underneath both sides of the frame. take off the tires remove the shocks. if shocks twist, hold it in place with channel locks if your hands cant. lower the jacks. undo the bolts for the spring retainers. put the bottle jack on the axle near the bump stop and pump it enough to unseat the spring. be careful not to overextend the brake line. installation is the opposite.

front: front is about the same, but there is a shock tower to deal with. remove bottom nut first then undo the shock tower nuts. pull straight out and remove the upper shock nut.

spring compressor isnt a bad idea. gives you more room to work with instead of dropping the thing completely. but like he said lift the body and enough to get the new spring in and the old one to come unsprung.

now you can use the sc to lower that gap.

we do them occasionaly and just drop the rear axle and then put a jack stand up to push it back up.

Go to the tech section of Dweb and there are instructions with pictures on installing new shocks & springs.

Do you need those shock towers I have to accommodate for the ES9000's? What is the top end like on the front shocks? Is it an eye loop like the rear or a stud like the original front shocks?

It is pretty easy to do the installation. Just start spraying everything with WD-40 right now! If you need help, the only thing I ask is that you pay for gas. Sorry about that part but gas prices are a wee bit too high right before Christmas! (got 3 little boys to spoil) :D

Install the extended brake lines first. Then remove the rear shocks and try installing the rear springs w/o the spring compressor. You might be able to drop one side of the axle low enough to install the spring. Please be very careful when working on your truck (make sure you have a good set of jackstands and your truck is secure). If you can ramp your truck on a rock that would be easy to install the rear springs one at a time. My truck flexes enough that I can change any of my springs w/o a spring compressor.

Good luck.

Installing the springs on a D1 will not require the use of the spring compressor. A D2 does. As long as he isn't going over 3" in spring lift, he should be fine doing it one side at a time. Besides...I'll be bringing my sledge hammer. :D

They have studs. I ordered the extended brake lines from DAP, they are on a two week back-order. I might cancel the order and buy some from RTE.
John, do you sell extended lines on 4x4ag?

I will pay you 100$ for gas, or more if needed. Whats you work week like?
