I finally went online to find an OEM tailpipe for my '93 LWB, and all the schematics I can find show a 2nd muffler on the tailpipe assy, downstream from the big, central muffler. Mine doesn't have this second muffler. Is that why mine has a throaty, non-refined-British sound to it?

Looks like this second muffler goes behind the rear axle.

Should I have one?

Yes, it originally would have had one at the rear. It likely failed, and had a new section of exhaust pipe installed in its place. I've seen quite a few of them, where they have been removed.

That's the resonator. You don't need it, most think they sound better without them. I've got my Disco straight piped from the cats back, and it sounds wonderful. Probably a bit too loud for some people's taste, but it's not my daily driver.
